Serie XEP high extinction polarizers are an ideal option for maximizing performance and minimizing alignment requirements. Unlike Brewster angle polarizers which work at an angle of incidence of 56°, the XEP high extinction polarizer works at 45°. Consequently, the reflected and transmitted beams are separated by 90° and orthogonally polarized, just like a cube polarizer.

Serie CPBA Glan-Laser prisms suffer a small, unavoidable loss at the two internal calcite-air interfaces. This loss is avoided in the CPBA series polarizers by presenting the p-polarized transmitted beam to these interfaces at Brewster's angle. The result is a high-power, low-loss polarizer that does not need AR coating.

Serie CLPG & CPBS - Glan-Thompson polarizers have a large acceptance angle while maintaining a high extinction of the s-polarization component. In applications where both polarizations are required, use a CPBS Glan Thompson polarizing beamsplitter.
Glan-Thompson polarizers are used in fluorescence polarization, for optimizing specular reflection spectroscopy measurements, and to remove interference fringes from transmission spectra recorded at Brewster's angle.
